California Surf Pilgrimage (Scroll down for prices and photos)

Oct 30 - Nov 2nd. Encinitas.

A 2-night women’s surf retreat by Sea Together

The ocean holds stories.

The people we meet. The places that shape us. The waves we remember. The moments that bring us back to ourselves.

California Surf Pilgrimage is an invitation to step into that space together.

For three nights, seven women will gather in Encinitas to surf, rest, create, share stories, and deepen their relationship with the ocean and with one another.

This retreat is centered on growing your relationship with surfing — building skills and confidence in the water while also making space for creativity, reflection, laughter, friendship, and simply being present.

There is room to improve your surfing.

There is room to rest.

There is room to be silly, thoughtful, quiet, curious, and fully yourself.

Only 7 women max.

Who It's For

California Surf Pilgrimage is for women surfers who are comfortable standing up on a board — from surfers working on building confidence and consistency to those surfing down the line, turning, cross-stepping, nose riding, and continuing to develop their skills.

You don't need to be an expert.

You don't need to surf every wave perfectly.

You simply need to want to keep growing.

This retreat is facilitated by Sea Together Founder Brianna, a surfer of 20 years and MFA-trained artist and educator.

What We'll Do Together

🌊 Surf

We'll surf together each day at a good local break that is welcoming to a range of surfing abilities, with opportunities for more advanced surfers to continue challenging themselves.

Our group surf sessions will include surf coaching designed around your individual goals, whether you're working on confidence, wave selection, turns, cross-stepping, nose riding, positioning, or simply feeling more at home in the water.

🎥 See Your Surfing Differently

We'll use Sony FX3 cinema cameras to film your surfing and give you visual feedback.

Sometimes seeing yourself from the outside helps you notice things you can't feel while you're in the water — and gives you a new perspective on your own surfing.

✍️ Create & Reflect

We'll make space for writing, journaling, and creative practice through an experiential workshop guided by Brianna.

Because surfing doesn't end when we leave the water.

The things we experience in the ocean often follow us back to land.

We will also have a special art or surf guest lead a workshop - details TBD. We have had a ceramics and natural dye workshop in the past.

⚖️ Build Your Balance

We'll incorporate group balance training designed to support your surfing and help you become more aware of your body and movement.

🤍 Gather

We'll create intentional opportunities to talk, listen, laugh, share stories, and connect.

Some of the most meaningful parts of surfing happen between the waves — the conversations before paddling out, the stories afterward, the people we meet along the way.

🌿 Make Space to Rest

The weekend isn't designed to keep you busy from morning until night.

There will be intentional pause and break time built into the retreat so you can rest, wander, read, nap, journal, or simply sit near the ocean.

🍽️ Eat Together

Enjoy 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, and 1 lunch prepared by our local chef.

Meals are designed to nourish you through the weekend and give us another opportunity to slow down and gather around the table together.

Dietary restrictions and allergy needs can be accommodated.

Snacks will also be available throughout the retreat.

🌊 Learn From the Community

We'll have facilitated surf Q&A conversations and 1 special guest in the weekend, creating opportunities to learn from people with different experiences and perspectives within surfing.

📚 Explore Surf Culture in Southern California

We'll talk about surf culture in Southern California and potentially stop at a few special sites.

🎁 A Little Something to Take Home

Every participant will receive a Sea Sister goodie bag. and a customized journal for the weekend to reflect on your relationship to surfing.

Your Stay (Scroll Down for Photos)

We'll stay together in a beautiful retreat house just 7 minutes driving distance from our local surf break.

The house gives us a comfortable place to slow down and spend time together between surf sessions, with a hot tub for evening gatherings, conversations, and stories under the sky.

Come Surf. Come Rest. Come Connect.

California Surf Pilgrimage isn't about squeezing more surfing into your life.

It's about creating space to experience surfing more deeply.

To build your skills.

To listen to the ocean.

To notice what you need.

To learn from other women.

To share stories.

To laugh after a bad wave and celebrate a good one.

To remember that you don't have to choose between becoming a better surfer and simply enjoying being in the water.

Because surfing is more than performance.

It's a relationship.

And like any meaningful relationship, it changes as we do.
