Anne Dos Santos is a Pro Surfer from Brazil and Australia. We met up with her on the North Shore of Oahu during the Vans Pipe Masters in December 2022. Anne was so down to earth and kind on land, but in the water, she is fierce and doesn’t let anything get in her way of surfing her very best in all types of waves and conditions

This week, we present a piece on Marissa Miller’s work as President of the Cal Poly Surfrider Foundation Club, written by Charlotte Ross. At the end of the piece, we showcase art by Kara Gibson, a student at the University of California Santa Barbara, as well as a short bio Kara wrote about herself.

Brought together on land and united at sea, Lilja the “groovy plant lover,” Emma the “surfer cowgirl,” and Kainani the “little moon child” have created a beautiful friendship both in and out of the ocean.

As told to Alicia King, Kim McKenzie shares her experience competing in the 1975 Smirnoff Pro. She notes, “The men were out there to make a living, but we [women] were pushing the envelope and doing whatever we could to be included. For us it was so much bigger.”
